Rochester Downtown Alliance and Minnesota Children’s Museum of Rochester kick off Let’s Play Rochester! an interactive public art project

Let’s Play Rochester!, a collaboration between the Rochester Downtown Alliance (RDA) and Minnesota Children’s Museum of Rochester, will initially feature three uniquely designed, large-scale sidewalk decals placed in various downtown locations. The decals will be interactive pieces of art, and will encourage play in both kids and adults.

The purpose of Let’s Play Rochester! is to provide the chance for all ages to connect downtown using the Power of Play to stimulate creative thinking and innovation.

“Let’s Play Rochester! creates an opportunity for us all to pause, and through these interactive graphics, facilitates our ability to look at our space differently and add a little creativity to our day,” said museum director, Heidi Mestad.

Let’s Play Rochester! will kick-off with a press event on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. outside John Kruesel’s Antique Shop on Historic Third Street – one of the decal locations. All ages are invited to the kick-off event, interact with the installation, and share their experiences using #LetsPlayRochester. The RDA and Minnesota Children’s Museum of Rochester will have representatives on-site to discuss the project and speak to the media.

The RDA and the museum both recognize the value of supporting programming which inspires the public to think creatively. More information about the Let’s Play Rochester! program and each decal location can be found online at www.DowntownRochesterMN.com
