Classroom Programs

Your students will experience a content-rich, hands on, 35-minute class facilitated by a Museum Educator. Museum classes are aligned with state standards in Health and Physical Education, Science or Social Studies and are exclusively available to all field trips.

Reserve Your Museum Field Trip

Group size*: Minimum 15 students, maximum 60 students.
Required ratio of one adult (admitted FREE) for every four students

Cost: $3 per student/extra adult

Availability: Tuesdays. Length of visit is 1 hour 45 minutes. Please call for availability.

How do I sign up for field trips?
Call 507-218-3100 and press 0 for availability and to make a reservation. Email your questions or comments to Group Reservations.

What is the payment policy?
A non-refundable deposit is due two weeks from the date of the confirmation letter by credit card or business check. Any remaining balance is due two weeks prior to the scheduled visit. Should more children/extra adults than the reserved number attend on the field trip day, they can be paid for upon arrival in one payment.

Due in part to the extra services we provide for our group visitors, it is necessary that every child in attendance is charged at the agreed rate. Individual tickets and family memberships to Minnesota Children’s Museum of Rochester do not apply for group visits.

How many chaperones do I need?
A ratio of one adult (admitted FREE) for every four students.

When can groups visit?
Groups can visit by reservation every Tuesday with the exception of exhibit installation periods and holidays.

Can you accommodate visitors with special needs?
Children and adults alike with disabilities can easily experience all areas of the Museum. If you have questions or require assistance during your visit, please ask a Museum staff member. Call 507-218-3100 and press 0 to speak with a Museum staff member regarding group size.

What about lunch?
Currently, the Museum does not have a lunch space. There are restaurant options nearby the Museum.

What about coats?
Coats may be left on the bus or coat racks will be available.
